FACE FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT - DEC 2020

It gives me great pleasure once again to present FACE Foundation review for the year 2020. Despite the challenges we experienced this year following the COVID-19 pandemic, FACE Foundation has managed to sustain its life changing support for many in need. In its fourth year as a registered charity in England and Wales, FACE Foundation has had a remarkably successful year. Following the cancellation of our 2020 annual fundraising gala due to the pandemic, our fundraising strategies this year turned towards a wide range of other approaches. These included sport activities to birthday gift donations and attracting potential sponsors for our good causes, which resulted in more funds being raised than previous years. Our humanitarian work started this year by responding to needs of many in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. To help prevent the spread of this deadly virus in most deprived and vulnerable communities, FACE Foundation’s emergency response included provision of essential food including powder milk for babies, and hygiene kits for the destitute and families with no income in Sistan and Baluchestan province. In the same province hit by floods earlier in the year, FACE Foundation initiated another project and constructed several sanitation facilities in the worst hit villages. We have also continued our partnership with UK Plan International Charity, supporting a 4-year project providing safe environment and learning materials for 350 school kids aged between 5 and 11 in Ethiopia. Our entrepreneurship project at the tailoring workshop in Pakdasht near Varamin has successfully managed to increase its workforce to 28 trained and full-time working personnel. Other supports include life saving surgeries for kids, provision of flu vaccination for 100s of kids suffering from mental and physical disabilities, provision of food and sanitation services to institutions caring for children. FACE Foundation is extremely proud to announce that, as committed and planned, we have increased number of families under our direct support, ensuring they have something to eat every day, they have a place to sleep at night, they have proper clothes to wear, they stay healthy, and most importantly ensuring all educational needs are provided for children attending school. Towards the end of 2020, FACE Foundation managed to attract the required sponsorship for our biggest project ever aimed at empowering young girls through education. This involves construction of a substantial educational establishment in an area in desperate need of such a facility. The work involves completion of a 10-classroom secondary school for girls located in Gachsaran town of Kohkilooye and Booyer Ahmad province. The target completion date for the school to be named “Dabirestan Dokhtaraneh Setareh (Sima 1)” is summer 2021, ready for the start of 2021/2022 academic year, providing educational facilities for 240 local girls. We plan to continue and further expand our humanitarian activities in the forthcoming years by attracting additional sponsors, improved fundraising initiatives and better working strategies. Let us remember, one of the core values of this organisation that makes us enormously proud is total and 100% transparency, with every single contributor working in their own time on a voluntary basis with no financial gain. This allows for every penny of funds raised to go directly towards good causes that are carefully verified. Finally, I like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our wonderful sponsors and supporters for their kind generosity and commitment enabling us to help 1,000s of destitute families and children in need.
