MAHDIEH PRIMARY SCHOOL SANITATION SERVICES

Mahdieh primary school is situated some 50 Km south of Tehran in a remote village called Manjil Abbad. Some 800 pupils attend the school in 2 separate shifts of morning and afternoon as part of their compulsory primary education. Extreme lack of sanitation services and lack of hot water at the school was causing great difficulties, specially for the pupils aged 6 to 11. This was brought to the attention of FACE Foundation and following careful analysis of the project and raising funds, the work on construction of a 52 square meter sanitation facility with 24/7 supply of hot water was started back in 2016. The work took about 5 months to complete and is now use by over 800 pupils on a daily basis.
